What is coarse fresh sausage?
Fresh sausage is ground and seasoned pork pressed into a casing. This sausage is ground somewhat coarser, hence coarse fresh sausage. Our fresh sausage is made by our Master Sausage Makers Henri van Heerde & Ronald Petter made in his own sausage factory. You can taste the craftsmanship... You won't find such a whole fresh sausage on the supermarket shelves!
Coarse fresh sausage is a hit in our stores, especially in the winter months. Not surprising, because a nice, juicy, large bratwurst is just a treat!
How to Cook Coarse Fresh Sausage?
A fresh sausage needs to be cooked with a bit of love. If you cook it too hard, there is a risk that the casing will burst. Take your time—about 15 minutes—use plenty of butter, and cook it over medium heat.
